Apply it to Sentence Structure

Directions are an important part of language study. They are helpful not only in locating something on a map but they also aid in giving and receiving directions. Today we will build upon previous lessons and describe the locations of different cities on a Polish map. For a review of Polish cities go to Lesson 29.

*We will use the ending –i to form the word Polski here meaning "of Poland. You can memorize the term Polski meaning "of Poland" for now as it will be explained later.

Examples:

Gdzie jest Warszawa?

            Where is Warszawa?

Warszawa jest w centrum Polski*.

Warszawa is in the center of Poland.

Gdzie jest Kraków?

            Where is Kraków?

Kraków jest na południu Polski.

Kraków is to the south of Poland.
